So, Chris acquired this book for us, Madhur Jaffrey’s Ultimate Curry Bible. We have tried about 6 recipes so far, and I have to say this book is on our list of best purchases ever!
I like to cook. I like to experiment while cooking. Mostly I do this because I look at a recipe and think “oh, it would be so much better if I did this…” I usually end up with my baked items being less sweet (lost my sweet tooth a while ago) and my other dishes much more spicy.
I haven’t changed anything in the recipes I’ve tried in this book. They are so good, I can’t imagine how I’d change them. One bite and I’m closing my eyes and sighing.
Not to mention the book is beautiful – great illustrations and photographs with chunks of history and other information.
The book is available at Powell’s. It can take a little while to get to you as it comes from an international warehouse, but it’s well worth the wait. I don’t think I can recommend this book enough, not just because it’s a great cookbook. It is also quite an inspiration for more cooking endeavors.
